Teaching style

In my express classes you can expect sequence flows designed to balance the chakras.

The chakra system is an ancient way of viewing the body. It is divided into seven zones, with each area having energy that must flow freely. When the chakras are balanced, the whole body works in harmony and we feel elevated, energized and whole. If the concept of “energy” feels too new-agey for you, just think of the seven points along the body as different organ systems. All of your organs must be in good working order for the body and mind to be healthy.

In my XL classes we will work with the Ashtanga primary series. My yoga school’s message is to “honour the source” so you can expect a traditional Indian practice with attention to breath connection and alignment. I’m looking forward to meeting you on the mat.

Biography

Yoga has always been in the background of my life for as long as I can remember. Having trained as a dancer, it was a great way of keeping my body supple and flexible. The more I practiced, the more I felt calm and at peace. I guess you could say I caught the yoga bug and desperate to learn more, I headed off to India to study my 200HR Ashtanga yoga with Yogacharya Lalit Kumar at Himalaya Valley Yoga in Goa. The lineage of this school includes BKS Iyengar and Sri Pattabhi Jois. I have been absolutely astounded in the change that I have seen in myself and my clients, not just physically, but mentally and spiritually. I think it is so important for us all to take some time and connect back to ourselves, especially in a busy city like London and my classes are designed to promote peace, self love and overall general wellbeing.
